We are looking for someone to clean a few hours each week in Amersham.
While I have time to keep things tidy I just don't have time to get the nitty gritty bits done without sacrificing quality time with the children. If you are a cleaner with an opening in your schedule please drop me a PM with your contact details and I will get in touch.
Ideally we would like for you to start next week but if it needs to be later than that we will wait.

I felt it may be prudent to let you all know of the less-than pleasant experience I have just had with Christian Aid (a charity, which I given too on numerous occasions, and which I feel, should know better").
"The whole road where I live has been disrupted by Christian Aid charity collectors who feel it is socially reasonable to disrupt families, and elderly people at 8pm on a Friday evening."
I challenged the collectors about precisely "this", and was told that it was perfectly acceptable. I completely disagree.
I felt it may be prudent in case they knocked on your door, at an even later hour.
Thanks
Miles.
You can also find them under Studio no. 180 on the Bucks Open Studios' booklet which is available in local shops and libraries and on Bucks Open Studios website under the following link http://www.bucksopenstudios.org.uk/exhibitorlisting.asp?ArtCat=Painting&keyword=Simpatico&postcode=&searchdate=&button=Search
Apparently, the A40 Abbey Way flyover will be partially closed until further notice (single lane each way). I expect this will cause major delays, as it's near the town centre, the big roundabout in the valley and the Eden centre.
There is some (not very helpful) information here: http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/news/10414467.Delays_expected_as_major_Wycombe_road_is_partially_closed/?ref=mc.
However, the BBC Travel News pages is not currently reporting any delays (Friday lunchtime), so maybe it's OK.
A friend of mine from Ealing is looking at moving out this way and has asked me about Chestnut Lane School. Can anyone advise? I have looked at previous comments and have heard on the Mum's grapevine that there is still trouble and strife there with poor management and Teachers leaving left right and centre. Or is all that past now? Can I recommend it?
Spotted this on the old ordnance survey maps - is it top Amersham's oldest school? Its there in 1883, so I cant think of where there would have been an older one, as it was largely farms then. After St George's was built it appears to become the Lodge house for the Wellers posh house - The Plantation - knocked down in the 70s but the school/ lodge house is still there as a private house.

Hi, I hope I've put this post in the right place, please feel free to move it if I haven't!
I was out walking today between Chesham and Amersham and found an iPod in a field just as it started raining, so I took it home for safekeeping. I've phoned Apple who inform me that the owner hasn't registered it, so they don't have a contact email address for them. I'd really like to return it to its owner, I know this is a long shot but I figure they're probably a local runner or dog walker. If you've lost your ipod today, or know the person who has, please send me a message with the description so I can get it back to you!
